Domestic Violence Resources in Oregon
Last updated September 5, 2026
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence in Oregon, you are not alone — and help is available right now. Oregon has a network of advocacy organizations, state agencies, and federally funded programs that can connect survivors with emergency shelter, legal protection, financial assistance, and longer-term stability. Your safety is the first priority, and every resource listed here is free to access.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can connect you with local Oregon resources, safety planning support, and trained advocates who speak multiple languages. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For non-emergency navigation of services — from housing to food assistance to mental health support — 2-1-1 Oregon is a free, confidential statewide helpline staffed by trained specialists who can identify programs in your county.
Survivors in Oregon may qualify for a range of state and federal benefits regardless of immigration status, income, or whether they have left an abusive situation yet. Oregon's Department of Human Services (DHS) administers many safety-net programs that can help with food, cash assistance, childcare, and Medicaid health coverage. Working with a local domestic violence advocate — often available through community-based programs you can find via 2-1-1 — can help you access these programs quickly and safely.
